THRIVEWELL UG

Let’s build a healthier Uganda together

By nurturing a collective consciousness and prioritizing shared experiences, we aim to cultivate an environment where the well-being and prosperity of one person contribute to and enhance the well-being and prosperity of all.

The Need:

The mental health landscape in Uganda confronts substantial challenges demanding urgent attention and innovative solutions. Despite ongoing efforts, 21st-century issues influenced by local and global factors exacerbate gaps in mental health policies, community interventions, and access to essential services. Schools, pivotal in youth development, lack evidence-based strategies for nurturing students' social-emotional well-being. Vulnerable populations frequently go unrecognized, lacking early intervention and critical support. Local healthcare providers, as dedicated as they are, need enhanced capacity through advanced training and sensitization programs to effectively meet their communities' diverse needs.

Our Afrocentric Approach:

Thrive Well Uganda is deeply rooted in the African philosophy of Ubuntu, which epitomizes empathy, compassion, and the profound understanding that individual well-being is fundamentally interwoven with the health of the community. Our guiding principle, “I am because we are,” encapsulates the essence of interconnectedness and mutual dependence.
